If you intend getting a hamster as a pet, the first thing that you need to plan is a hamster cage. The good news is that it is very easy to set up a hamster cage provided you use materials that are safe and tools that are correct.
So, here are some tips that will teach you How To Set Up A Hamster Cage ?:
First of all get all the required material for building the hamster cage. You will need a cage, a sipper, bedding, bowl for food and also a shelter. The bedding is the most important part of the set up, as there are some things that should not be used at all. Never use anything fluffy for bedding as it may be fatal for the rodent. Also, avoid using newspaper. Instead, make sure that the bedding is made from wood shavings. You can easily get these from a pet store.
The next important part of the cage is the shelter. Hamsters tend to build their nests in areas that are enclosed. So, have an enclosed area in the cage. You can easily use a tissue box for a shelter if you do not want to spend too much money. Or, you can buy a readymade shelter from a pet store when you are purchasing the sipper bottle and the food bowl.
Once you have all the required material, you need to put them in the cage. The bedding should be around 2 inches thick. Then place the food bowl and attach the sipper bottle to the cage. Place the shelter where you want. You can also put in many extras in the cage. These can be objects for the hamster to climb on or things to chew. Just check out the pet store and buy whatever you think your pet hamster would like. However, make sure that the cage is not crowded and there is sufficient space for the hamster to move around.
Once you have set up all the furniture in the cage, the cage is ready to welcome your new pet.
