How High Can Sharks Jump ?

Sharks are popular as a kind of fish that has a cartilaginous skeleton with a streamlined body. The earliest shark is known to be much more than 420 million years old before the period of dinosaurs. Since then, sharks are known to diversify into 440 various species that range from small dwarf to whale shark which is really huge in size.

Sharks are known to be located in almost all areas of the world. They are not known to live in fresh water except bull shark and which is a shark that can live in seawater as well as the freshwater.

Scientists have discovered that sharks can easily jump out of water, but only a few of these species can actually do so. The two species that tend to jump out from the water include the Mako and Great White. They aggressively do so. Out of these, the former one can leap up to twenty feet out of the water. This, though, does not indicate any attack or aggression, but it is an attempt made on its part to shake off the parasites, if any.

On the other hand, some researches prove that this is done in order to disorient fish. This behavior has also been found in Great White sharks but the reasons for doing so vary entirely. They can jump over10 feet which is basically a very aggressive behavior in their case and this is often seen when the sharks are in anger. This is usually observed when they have been feeding on the seals and other recognizable prey.
