Saltwater fishes are most common for their stunning colors. However, there are some freshwater fish also which have bright and beautiful colors and can be an asset in the aquariums. Given below are some of the colorful freshwater fish.

Colorful Freshwater Fish:

• Cardinal Tetra - This is quite a small freshwater fish which comes in bright colors and it is related to the neon tetra. It has a small blue colored strip which is present all along its body. There is a thick bright red band just under the blue stripe.
• Lemon Cichlid - This fish belongs to South America. It appears in bright yellow color which is present in whole body and also the fins.
• Betta Fish - Belonging to the Siamese fighting fish family, it is perhaps one of the most colorful tropical fish. The male comes with sprawling fins and a long body. They can be seen in different types of colors like blue, red, purple, green and white.
• Gardeneri Killifish - Most of the killifish are extremely colorful and out them the gardeneri variety is considered to the most colorful of them all. It has a long body which appears in blue color and it has a mottled red designs all over its body. The tips of the tail and the fins have a bright yellow patch.
• Clown Loach - This bottom feeder fish is also a colorful freshwater fish. It has broad patches of black over its golden orange body. The fins and the tales have bright orange color.
• Fancy Guppy - This variety of tropical fish has a long trailing tail which has colorful designs. They appear in various colors like bright orange, red, and purple, blue and sometimes in black.
