Bengal Tiger Habitat

The royal Bengal tiger lives in the forests of the Indian subcontinent and is mainly found in marshlands and grasslands of the area. The Bengal tiger is mainly found in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and Tibet.

The tiger is one of the endangered species and it is feared that less than 1,400 royal Bengal tigers live in this world now. Among them, nearly 280 live in the Sunderbans mangrove forests in India. The forests are growing smaller because these areas are extremely populated and the habitat for the tiger is fast disappearing. Most of the tigers today art are monitored and they are in parks or reserves. There are 2 main reserves and parks for the tigers in India, and they are Ranthambore and the Sariska Tiger Reserve. The Bengal tiger is also restricted to the Kaziranga National Park of Assam, India.
